Dorothy Fields was the daughter of the famous Lew Fields of the comedy team "Weber & Fields".
Jimmy McHugh worked in publishing & wrote reviews outside his jazz work.
McHugh founded the Jimmy McHugh Polio Foundation.
This musical team also created the highly successful Broadway show
Blackbirds.
The tune was originally written for Patsy Kelly to perform in
Harry Delmar's Revels
but it was dropped from the show.
Dorothy Fields was a prolific lyricist with over 83 tunes to her credit.
