• With the exception of Walter Melrose, all the composers of Tin Roof Blues were members of the New Orleans Rhythm Kings.
• At age 14 Leon Roppolo ran away from home with a vaudeville actress, but was caught by police and returned to his parents.
• Paul Mares was a self-taught trumpet player and one of New Orleans earliest white players.
• Ben Pollack started the fisrt jazz dance band.
• Pollack appeared in the Benny Goodman Story as himself.
• Lyrics were added to this tune in 1954.
