The Man I Love
    (George & Ira Gershwin; 1928)

    • George Gershiwn loved to roller-skate and as a youngster he went everywhere on roller-skates!
    • Gershwin's mother bought a piano when George was 12, so that Ira coule take lessons. Of course, it was George who later became the musician in the family.
    • The original family name was Gershovitz which later became Gershiwn after the Russian Immigrants came to the US.
    • The Man I Love was originally written for the Broadway play Lady, Be Good. An investor, Otoo H. Kahn, liked the tune so much that he invested $10,000 into the production, then the song was cut!
