Gershwin's mother
bought a piano when George was 12, so that Ira coule take lessons.
Of course, it was George who later became the musician in the family.
The original
family name was Gershovitz which later became Gershiwn after the Russian
Immigrants came to the US.

An investor, Otoo H. Kahn, liked the tune so much that he invested
$10,000 into the production, then the song was cut!
